The Federation organizes seminars for fourteen- to eighteen-year-old German and American youths. The seminars focus on current topics which the participating yongsters are interested in and which can serve as a starting point for discussing cultural differences. The yearly highlight is the Federation's Homestay Program. American youths live with a German host family for two weeks, and German youths go to the U.S. for two weeks as well, where they are taken care of by American host families. This year 30 - 40 youths from all over Germany - four of them from Munich - have spent 2 weeks in Washington D.C. In order to become acquainted to each other prior to their trip and to learn more about their stay in USA a joint weekend was held in May in the youth hostel of Würzburg. If you, your family or friends want to find out more about this youth program, please contact the above mentioned Chairlady of the GAWC Munich.
